Invasive non-native plants can be tricky to identify. For those dealing with invasive weeds in the countryside, it is important to know the differences between these plants, especially when they pose extreme health risks and consequences – which in some cases can be deadly! So when you are foraging in the countryside, be aware that you must absolutely know your Cumin and Coriander from your Hogweed and Hemlock!
As we continue with our ‘Invasive Species Week Special’, PCA Trainer & Examiner Robert Mitchell will answer these questions and much more through a pre-recorded video on ‘Invasive Weeds in the Countryside – From Hemlock to Hogweed’.

Robert is Director of Conservation Land Services Ltd, and a PCA Trainer and Examiner. The main focus of their work tends to be on the commercial side, working with large scale housing developers, with whom Robert has developed invasive weed talks and advice sheets for site managers.
Robert is very keen to promote a wider awareness and approach to invasive weeds such as Hemlock and Giant Hogweed, not just Japanese Knotweed, and the awareness and importance of bio-security controls
