Simon grew up on the Wirral, and attended Liverpool Polytechnic and Cranfield Institute of Technology where he graduated in Automotive Engineering. He worked in product design, development engineering and technical sales within the railway, automotive and off highway markets, gaining Chartered Membership of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, before returning to Cranfield to complete an MBA in 1990.
Following graduation, Simon worked extensively in Europe and as far afield as India where he established and managed a 200-seat design office for an Automotive Tier 1 supplier. Returning to Europe in 2012, Simon worked in Dundee and Poland, creating a multi-national Engineering and Program team to develop custom Lithium batteries for the Automotive, Power Tool and eBike sectors, before joining Buckleys in 2016 where as Managing Director, he has led the push to generate innovative new technical testing products such as the 'Leak Detectors', to meet the needs of multiple domains including the Oil & Gas, Construction, and Industrial sectors.
