March 2023 saw the publication of the NEW 'Sprayed Foam Insulation Inspection Protocol'. The open source document is the work of a multi stakeholder group who have collaborated to provide a framework that will help building surveyors to make informed decisions when they encounter sprayed foam in domestic roofs.
The use of sprayed polyurethane foam in roofs continues to divide opinion. It seems fair to say that most building surveyors are understandably reticent when it comes to reporting on the quality and effects of the product when it is encountered. This video replay works through the new guidance explaining how it came about and how it can be applied. There will be comments on the steps being taken by the foam industry as well as thoughts on what might happen next to assist vendors, purchasers and surveyors...all of whom want to see a fair and proportionate approach to this new challenge.
