PCA Supports New Amenity Standard
The Amenity Standard was launched on Tuesday at the Scottish Government and Amenity Forums ‘Amenity Management in Scotland’ conference. Steve Hodgson and Andy Ferguson attended the launch along with a few PCA members too and we’re pleased to report that the new Amenity Standard was warmly received.
We encourage all PCA Invasive Weed Group members to start using the new standard (https://theamenitystandard.co.uk) and logo (click here to access) within your own marketing plans.

EHCA Inspections on hazardous Chemicals
PCA manufacturer members are advised of ECHA’s plans to crack down on online sellers of hazardous chemicals (including biocides being sold without necessary checks).
We wish them every success, but in the meantime, we encourage all our timber treatment members to ensure they are fully up-to-date with the latest Regulations on the use of wood preservatives. You can gain formal accreditation via our Safe Use of Biocides for Professional Users course and candidates who pass the assessment receive a ‘Professional Biocide User’ identification card, which is similar to the NPTC licence for herbicide use.
Contact Jo in the training team to book your place or for more information, on 01480 400000.
