We have been asked by Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to participate in the review of the National Occupational Standard (NOS) that ultimately sets the objectives for the Building Preservation Apprentice scheme operated by the Association.
Employers are needed to contribute to the review group and as the Property Care Association is not an employer of technicians, we cannot fulfil this function on your behalf.
4 Specific areas to be reviewed
Paul Lintott of CITB is organising the revision and has advised us that:
“There are four specific NOS to this area of work and I would estimate that these could be reviewed over two short meetings (two to three hours each) by the technical experts. If the outcome of those meetings is that the NOS do need to be revised, then we would issue the NOS documents to a wider audience for further review and feedback and then organise another meeting for the wider group to agree the suggested amendments. Again, I would anticipate a meeting of not more than two to three hours, all meetings are being conducted virtually through the Teams application”.
