New year... new venue!

We continue to provide training in an engaging and alternative format, one which meets the needs of all who want to learn whether this be classroom-based, practical, or online. With training facilities in Huntingdon, it is not always feasible for candidates in the north of the UK to travel to us. But we are delighted to share that we now have a NEW location at the University of Stirling for our Certificated Surveyor of Timber and Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB) training course, and we can promise that this new venue will provide a better training facility for this course moving forward.

It’s a ‘Stirling’ University!

The University will enable all property and construction specialists who are based near to, and across Scotland, to attend this training and develop their specialist knowledge of issues caused by damp, timber infestation and decay. And by hosting a course here, we can ensure property professionals throughout the industry benefit from opportunities to further their expertise and knowledge in this sector!

Addressing the Skills Shortage

We have written about the skills shortage before and how skilled people are hard to recruit, and those we have, and value, are getting harder than ever to retain. At a time when we need to seriously address this issue, investing in training and development has never been more important. This training option presents an opportunity to develop your knowledge whilst potentially reducing travel expenses, and at no cost or impact to the training or your learning!

What the course offers…

The course has been carefully constructed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, resolve and report upon problems relating to dampness, timber infestation and decay in buildings, and is separated into three modules:

  • Condensation & Dampness – Causes, diagnostics & treatment options
  • Timber, Timber Biology, Decay and Insects
  • Legal Aspects, Surveying Methodology and Report Writing
