Herbicide update
The Property Care Association (PCA) and the Amenity Forum (AF) share a longstanding collaboration focused on advancing best practices, maintaining professionalism, and upholding technical standards, particularly regarding the use of Plant Protection Products (PPP).
In light of the Official Control Regulations (OCR) 2020, which emphasise legal requirements for the safe and sustainable use of herbicides, the PCA and AF are working together to review audit questions and raise conformance standards required of members. This initiative aims to ensure full legal compliance and reinforce consumer confidence in the quality of services provided by PCA members.
Additionally, the PCA is exploring the possibility of offering training for the PA1 and PA6 (151 & 152) modules on the safe use of pesticides. This programme would include a refresher component to support members’ continuous professional development (CPD). The proposed course may be linked with the Technicians Course in Japanese Knotweed, enabling participants to secure their spraying license while gaining specialist knowledge on Japanese Knotweed management. The PCA anticipates launching this exciting opportunity for members by the end 2025. In the meantime, if you would like more information, please contact Daniel Docking.
