Our Paula Presents at UKIEG Conference 2019
Our very own KTP Associate Dr Paula Lopez-Arce attended the UKIEG’s annual conference this week, presenting “Emerging Issues in Indoor Environmental Quality: Science and Policy”. Attended by academics, policy makers and industry experts, the event was extremely interesting, covering topics of huge importance to many of our members and indeed, to the work we are doing through our own KTP project.
Our Paula commented: “what a great audience and many thanks to UKIEG for the kind invite. For the PCA’s & UCL’s research to be recognised on such an international stage was a very proud moment“.

Studentships & Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
Our knowledge transfer partnership (KTP) with UKCMB is ongoing and recently, Aereco agreed to sponsor a PhD studentship. The successful candidate will work on the use of differential vapour pressure analysis for assessment of internal air quality, condensation risk and the effectiveness of ventilation. UKCMB also has a PhD studentship, sponsored by Historic England, with a focus on moisture issues in protected and traditionally constructed buildings.

Step into Summer with some training
Invasive Plant Identification Course **NEW**
This NEW course has been launched to focus on the identification of common terrestrial invasive species in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work with live samples, such as American Skunk Cabbage and Three Cornered Garlic, and extend knowledge with invasive species that are causing problems within the UK.
If 1st August doesn’t work for you, the next course is running on 6th September – DON’T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO ATTEND!!
Evaluating Ventilation in Existing Buildings
If you have a building/trade background then this could be the course for you! Condensation and mould are the most common forms of dampness in buildings and it is becoming increasingly essential for anyone that inspects buildings, to understand the significant role that ventilation plays in controlling these issues and how to identify defects in ventilation systems. Don’t delay, book today!
Contact the training team today on 0844 375 4301 or email [email protected].
