First Meeting of the Ground Gas Protection Group

A couple of weeks ago we reported that the PCA – acting on the mandate given by the Structural Waterproofing group – were tasked with starting the process of creating a new section of representation within the PCA.

Ground Gas Protection will be subject to the same rules common with all of the other sectors of Association. To this end, work has started on the creation of the necessary standards and codes that will support the group going forward. We know a number of existing members are operating in this arena currently. In the interests of inclusivity we would like to hear from you now and invite you to take part in the initial meeting of the Ground Gas Protection Group scheduled for the 23 September at the offices in Huntingdon.

Please get in touch by email to [email protected] and we will forward your invitation detailing the objectives of the meeting.

In-House Training for GPI

The PCA provided some in-house training to all GPI staff on Structural Waterproofing, Timber Preservation and Japanese knotweed earlier this month. Gemma Swankie of GPI commented: “As a recommended insurer for Insurance Backed Guarantees it was important for us to have a knowledge of all work types the PCA covers so we can help contractors when they apply for cover and who better to deliver this than Steve Hodgson, PCA’s Chief Executive!”

“The sessions were interactive, fun and informative. We couldn’t recommend the training enough and I am sure we will be having more specific training in the near future!”
