Paula’s Paper is Published!
Last month, PCA’s Paula Lopez-Arce presented the research on environmental monitoring of UK dwellings at the “X IAQVEC” Conference in Italy. This research would not have been possible without the investment by PCA members in supporting the Knowledge Transfer Programme.
We are delighted to announce that this research paper has now been published (click on the button below to read), a testament to the success of this project and the credibility your Association has now established in the academic arena.

Healthy Homes & the Role of Refurbishment
Being invited to represent the views of PCA members at a working lunch at the House of Lords cannot fail to give an invited guest a bit of a buzz. This event, hosted by the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC) was held to debate and explore how buildings can be made safer and more healthy while becoming more energy efficient.

Fail to Prepare, Prepare to Fail!
Ahead of the International Building Preservation Conference 2019, Technical Manager James Berry shares with us a small selection of the reading material he is working through taken from our extensive library. This resource built over decades has helped develop his presentation on the evolution of damp control. Apparently these are the more modern ones, with the rest being older than him!

Why Attend a Regional Meeting
Training – Get Ready for Autumn

This ONE-TIME-ONLY offer is your opportunity to attend a half-day basic fire warden course. Candidates will learn:
- the principles of fire fighting equipment
- evacuation procedures

This course will ensure that your duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 will be satisfied.
Retrofit Insulation Masterclass
This one day masterclass is a must for surveyors and building professionals, landlords, property managers and contractors, as they will increasingly come across buildings with retrofit insulation. Delegates learn the retrofit process so they can identify what work retrofitters have undertaken, the potential resulting unintended consequences and how they should be remedied.
