Article on PIV sent for Peer Review to International Journal

We have spoken about Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) over the past few weeks and many of you will be aware that there are few technical documents out there to support PIV systems. Head of Research, Paula, has submitted an article on this issue titled, ‘Can Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) tackle surface condensation?’ to the International Journal of Ventilation.

We hope this article will lead to further research/monitoring studies on ventilation performance and strategies to deal with indoor surface and atmospheric moisture.

Apprenticeship Programme secured until 2025!

As we prepare to welcome our 9th cohort of apprentices onto our Damp & Timber Apprenticeship Programme, we can share that CITB has confirmed funding is secure until 2025!

Whilst we must remain aware of the challenges from CITB, for now, this increased level of funding is welcome as we move forward with our Special Apprenticeship Programme.

Helpful advice

For all our Scottish based companies, the Scottish Protection Environment Agency (SEPA) shared some helpful advice following roadside checks undertaken recently between SEPA, Roads Policing Division of Police Scotland, DVLA and HMRC. These checks were to identify unregistered waste carriers, reinforce duty of care and prevent potential criminal activity, such as flytipping.
