Best Practice Awards 2019
Our Annual Best Practice Awards will be taking place on Thursday 21st November. This extremely popular event will follow both our Preservation and Invasive Weed conferences, which are held on the same day – more details to follow next week!
Once again, the conferences and Best Practice Awards will take place at The University of Warwick.

What a Great Inaugural Invasive Plant ID Course!
Last week saw the VERY FIRST Invasive Plant Identification Course take place – and what a great day it was! We were pleased to welcome Laura Jones from AECOM to deliver the course to 11 enthusiastic candidates, who all got the chance to get “hands on” with over 20 different terrestrial invasive species!
But don’t just take our word for it! Glen Parker of Phlorum commented:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the invasive weed identification course. It was great to see live specimens of the invasive species and be able to compare them side-by-side with similar native and non-native species…”

Cyber Fraud Warning
As the summer months are now in full flow, business owners and staff will be enjoying some well-earned time off with friends and family. Barclays are urging businesses to remain vigilant when handling payments during this time of year – staff may be heading off for holidays, but ‘scammers’ don’t take a break!

Autumn Regional Meetings
The Regional Meetings have always been known for providing valuable input to the Association, are a great chance to network and free for PCA members! Below are the dates for the Autumn Regional Meetings:
- South West (Bristol) – 2nd October
- Scotland (Stirling) – 8th October
- Northern (Bradford) – 9th October **New Venue**
- Midlands (Coventry) – 16th October **New Venue**
- South East (Redhill) – 30th October

Turnover Declaration Forms
We will be sending out the annual Turnover Declaration Forms to our Contractor and Manufacturer members in the next couple of weeks.
During October we will post out subscription invoices for 2020 and the information provided from your completed Turnover Declaration Forms, helps us determine subscription levels and aids us when setting the budgets for next year.
