PCA's Test Wall - Part III
In this latest instalment from our newly built 'Test Wall', the PCA presents 'Intrusive Methods of Moisture Testing'. This video is part 3 in this series and Technical Manager James Berry looks at destructive methods which can be carried out on site (i.e. speedy metres), as well as protocols for measuring with dowel rods and taking samples for gravimetric testing. Flood & Coast Conference
Over the past twelve months the Property Care Association has been a contributor to a package of training funded by the Environment Agency, but coordinated by Chartered Institute for Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). We were delighted to be present as the project began its rollout at the annual Flood and Coast Conference and Exhibition in Telford last week. The most powerful takeaway was hearing the frustrations of those in public office who are attempting to do the right thing by way of flood mitigation through PFR, but are constrained by bureaucracy, a lack of understanding, and ignorance of what is possible, what works, and how to buy it. We can only hope that the training showcased last week will be widely taken up and some of those with the power to orchestrate the delivery of high quality property flood resilience from companies that have the experience, knowledge and skill, feel impowered to do so.... but don’t hold your breath!
