Building Moisture Index (BMI) System Update

It has been a year since we launched our Building Moisture Index (BMI) technology and we can share that we have recently updated the program to improve both the accuracy of the data processing, and the quality of layout when reporting the results. PCA Board Meeting: Election of Officers

During the PCA's Board meeting earlier this week, the Election of Officers took place and the following individuals were elected:

  • Chairman: John Bradley of Elta Fans (re-elected for a second term)
  • Deputy Chairman/Treasurer: Mark Edwards of Timberwise (re-elected for a second term)
  • Executive Officer: Cormac Rooney from MJ Rooney Construction Ltd

We have shared previously that according to the latest Government statistics, two men working in the construction industry take their own life in the UK every day. And in England alone, more than 276 construction workers took their own lives in 2020. These are shocking statistics and we hope that you are able to access the help and advice out there, should you need it. Mental health is something that affects the building industry far more than any other sector as the BBC's Radio 5Live programme reported on recently. You can access this via the button below.

COP26: Disruption in and around Glasgow

For anyone who lives in and around Glasgow, disruption is starting across the city as COP26, the climate change summit, fast approaches. This disruption will cause significant traffic problems with major road closures beginning TOMORROW. If you are conducting surveys or remedial works in the area affected, remember to take into account extra time to get to the job, parking restrictions and potentially, the extra labour time needed to cover lost time in traffic.
