Is the fee for PI Insurance starting to outpace the cost?!

We have spoken about Professional Indemnity Insurance many times over the past couple of months, but have we reached a point where the negative impact of the ever increasing cost of PI has gone too far? Are we all now being disproportionately punished because of external factors that we cannot control? And if so…is there anyone doing anything about it?

Covid-Safe Face to face Training is back!

We are delighted to advise that our face-to-face training and exams are back! Starting on Thursday 25th February, it was great to see candidates back in the building for our Japanese knotweed Technicians Training!

PCA’s Abstract for International Conference is accepted!

We are delighted to share with members that we have been accepted to present at the International Conference on Moisture in Buildings (ICMB21) to showcase our Building Moisture Index (BMI) Technology. This is a fantastic opportunity for the Association to showcase the capabilities of the NEW BMI ‘game-changing’ technology and our unique protocol for recording this data that our PCA members have invested in!

Virtual Floodmobile Event

Join the team from the ‘Ox-Cam PFR Pathfinder Project’ as it launches the Floodmobile during its ‘Virtual Floodmobile Event‘ on 9th March 2021.

The Floodmobile is an interactive demonstration vehicle that is packed with over 50 practical flood resilience measures that reduce the impact a flood can have, as well as information packs and videos showing the measures in use, in real homes and businesses across the country.

VAT Deferral Scheme NOW OPEN

As part of their Covid business support, the Government is allowing businesses to defer the VAT due between 20 March to 30 June 2020. If you deferred VAT between 20 March and 30 June 2020 and still have payments to make, you now have the options to:

• Pay the deferred VAT in full on or before 31 March 2021
• Opt into the VAT deferral new payment scheme
• Contact HMRC if you need more help to pay

HSE First Aid Update

HSE have updated their guidance on first aid training during the pandemic as rescue breaths have been temporarily omitted while coronavirus transmission rates remain high.
