PCA Industry Qualifications

Alongside being the Trade Association representing members within our sectors, the PCA has developed with industry experts a number of qualifications for both surveyors and technicians.

The Property Care Association stands firm as the voice of authority within the industry and when a surveyor or technician can demonstrate that they have achieved PCA qualifications and accreditation, then both customers and employers will know that they have reassurance, industry experience & knowledge beyond reproach.

Surveyor Qualifications through the PCA

Gaining accreditation and certification through the PCA demonstrates to employers and clients alike that, as a surveyor, your knowledge and expertise is beyond reproach.

All of the examinations comprise a rigorous process made up of both written papers and oral examinations to thoroughly test and evaluate a candidate’s knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge in practice. Follow the links below to find out more about our surveyor qualifications.

NOTE: In order to complete the CSDB/CSTDB and CSSW qualifications, candidates must also sit and pass a separate Legal and Health & Safety examination module.

Certificated Surveyor of Timber and Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB/CSDB)

For those already, or who wish to be involved in the surveying of timber infestation, wood rot decay and dampness in buildings.

Technician qualifications through the PCA

The PCA understands the importance of having trained and qualified expert technicians and tradesmen. This is why we offer PCA Qualified Technician (PCAQT) certification for the damp & timber, waterproofing and invasive weed sectors. These technician course include both training and assessment on the same day(s).

PCA qualifications in partnership with ABBE

Due to the successful relationship between the ABBE and the PCA, candidates successfully passing the CSSW (Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing) and CSTDB/CSDB (Certificated Surveyor of Dampness in Buildings) examinations, will be awarded the ‘ABBE/PCA Level 3 certification through ABBE.

The PCA works in partnership with the ‘Awarding Body for the Built Environment‘ (ABBE) to audit and award some of our qualifications.

Along with the rigour and professionalism of the PCA examination process, this means that the CSTDB, CSDB and CSSW exams and qualifications will be independantly verified by UK leading award organisation within the construction industry!
