We are delighted to share the video highlights from the recent '2022 International Property Care Conference', via the button below. The importance of this document must not be underestimated. For the first time, heritage, surveying and industry have come together and agreed the skills and knowledge, that all parties agree, should be the prerequisite to damp detection in traditional buildings.
For many of our PCA members, we know you already deliver to these standards, but we do strongly advise you to read and understand this 'Joint Position Statement' and to be prepared to answer questions on it from your customers & clients. An 'Introduction to Lime' course - James Berry blog
Many of our members (& other property & surveying professionals) will know that the PCA runs a 'traditional methods of repair course' in collaboration with SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings). However, some of the Technical team took the opportunity recently to delve a little deeper into one particular aspect of the course - Lime renders and mortars - to help better understand the advantages and disadvantages of this alternative method.
