About the presenter – Alex Brook
Alex is an ecologist with over twenty years’ experience, working within Ebsford Environmental as the Technical Specialist for Invasive Species. He originally started as an ecologist in the 1990’s working for CAB International and later became involved in the Japanese knotweed biological control project, and subsequently managed the release of the psyllid Aphalara itadori – the first UK release of a classical biological control agent.
Alex’s current role includes surveying and providing management options for invasive non-native plant species. These projects cover a diverse range of invasive species and habitats: from development sites to sites of special scientific interest, both terrestrial and aquatic. The sectors include utility companies, developers and local government.
