Online Training: Understanding Traditional Buildings

Understanding the principles of traditional buildings is a necessary skill for anyone involved in the constrction industry. Our traditional buildings course provides this grounding by developing delegates understanding and knowledge of the fundamentals of the different types of building construction and how the construction type will affect the buildings performance.

The online fully recorded course is open to both PCA members and non-members alike and can be taken alone or in conjunction with our Surveying Timber & Dampness in Buildings course.

Who should attend our traditional building training?

This course is ideal as foundation level training, or as a refresher or to fill any gaps in existing knowledge to help surveyors and technicians when working with buildings to assess and recommend appropriate actions for property care.

The course is also of great value for those working in an office-based support role, especially those who are new to the property care industry. The course provides the necessary background in traditional building types so that attendees can feel confident talking to field-based colleagues and customers

Structure of the traditional buildings course

This course is fully recorded allowing candidates to watch a time and place to suit them. Split up into 7 sections, this course looks at all aspects of buildings construction from foundations to the roof.

Candidates will have access to these videos for two weeks through our online school. There is no assessment or test included, this is a professional development opportunity. Canddiates will recieve an attendace certifcate upon completion of this course.
